Hockey Day!

Saturday, February 14th was Hockey Day in Canada. We would like to recognize Hockey Day at Golden Gate on Friday, February 20th.

Staff and students are encouraged to wear their hockey gear, (no sticks) to school. At lunch time there will be a staff vs. student floor hockey game in the gym!

100th Day of School!

6F1 celebrated the 100th Day of School today by...

*participating in the Amazing Race (100 Day Edition)

*completing an Equation Scavenger Hunt around the class. (if solved correctly, the mystery picture would be revealed)

*competing in the 100-Second Challenge, including the events:
How many times can you write your name in 100 seconds?

How many times can you type your name in 100 seconds?

How many times can you jump on one foot in 100 seconds?

How many push-ups can you do in 100 seconds?

*trying to fill up a list of 100 animals, 100 countries, 100 verbs, 100 words that begin with the letter C, 100 ways to say 'said', 100 first names that begin with the letter C, and 100 sports.

Valentine's Day (con't)

We continued to celebrate Valentine's Day by:

**Playing a Valentine's themed team challenge

**Writing Valentine Rebus messages

**Receiving a compliment Valentine. Several weeks ago, each student had to write down a compliment about every student in the class. I compiled all of those compliments together to make a Valentine. How fun to read the anonymous compliments!
